BLDA Architects has been established for over forty years. Our studios are based in Chelsea Harbour in London with a staff of around 35 architects and technical staff.

We are commissioned by private individuals, family offices, corporate clients, governmental clients, and trusts both UK and overseas based. We have won a number of awards for our work.

We achieve the highest quality of design paying the closest attention to our clients’ briefing.

Many of our commissions have included work in Conservation Areas and work to Listed Buildings Grade I, Grade II* and Grade II. Our commissions have been in the UK, Europe, the USA and in Canada. We have carried out large commercial and residential projects on green field and on inner-city sites, both new build and conversion.

Working in a number of diverse fields we believe lends strength to our design and building expertise and ability. Our residential work includes large new apartment buildings through to houses for individual clients both newbuild and refurbishment. Our commercial and residential work has included interior and furniture design for the finished projects.

We have extensive expertise in working in close collaboration with a number of the world’s leading Interior Designers. These commissions include both private homes and high specification retail and office designs.

Education

Every year, BLDA has the honour of sponsoring two undergraduate scholarships at the University of Bath School of Architecture.

Excerpt from article “Celebrating the support of our donors”  publish by the University of Bath School of Architecture:

“As well as former staff, we were also thrilled to welcome alumni, friends of the University and corporate partners to the Rolls of Honour. Alumnus John Perry signed twice, both in recognition of his individual philanthropy and in his capacity as Managing Director of BLDA Architects. BLDA Architects provide scholarships for promising Architecture students who might otherwise not have access to a University of Bath education. Thanks to BLDA’s support, talented young architects now have the opportunity to access the skills, knowledge and connections they need to succeed.

John stated: “My profession has provided me with great enjoyment and satisfaction, all due in no small part to my years at Bath. The seven years needed to study architecture leads to a huge personal financial investment and I see it as important to do what little I can to help those who would otherwise be unable to study. I am delighted to be involved with the University in this small way and to receive the detailed and insightful reports from our scholars." (Bath University, 2020).
