BLDA has recently secured Planning Consent for this sensitive rural site in Suffolk. The site at Wadd Lane is occupied by three existing cottages which during the course of planning discussions were identified as Non Designated Heritage Assest by the local authority.
The original proposals for three new dwellings to Passivhaus standards were therefore modified to allow the retention of the existing cottages. The proposals comprise extensions to the existing cottages which provide a new family room occupying the whole of the existing cottage footprint with bedroom accommodation provided in the extenstion wing. The proposals also involve the creation of a new two storey three bedroom cottage to Passivhaus standards in the gardens of the existing cottages.
